On a clear day, from the top of the Ben Rinnes mountain, you can survey the eight counties that surround us. Eight Lands Organic VODKA AND GIN are carefully distilled in the Glenrinnes Distillery at the foot of this mountain.
We do things properly at Glenrinnes Distillery. We invest an extraordinary amount of time and effort into making our spirits because we believe it comes through in the taste. We do not pretend to have a history or provenance that is untrue. We are transparent. We can point to our water source and trace the ingredients from every bottle of our spirits. Our distillery is open to anyone that wants learn about how we make Eight Lands.
Our aim from the outset was to produce high quality organic spirits. We knew that we had to go beyond “craft” distilling, building a distillery that allowed for consistent high quality production with real scalability. Glenrinnes Distillery and its products are organic certified through SOPA – the Scottish Organic Producers Association. Furthermore, the distillery is accredited by SALSA as part of their leading food safety and hygiene scheme.

This is a place of rolling fields, dense woodland and the ever-present Ben Rinnes mountain. This spacious, rugged and captivating landscape is the home of Glenrinnes Distillery.
The distillery is situated on our family-run estate in the heart of Scotch whisky country, between the Highlands and the River Spey. The estate is spread over more than 6,000 acres of Scottish countryside. It is the perfect environment for rearing award-winning, organic cattle, sheep and deer. Developed from a simple passion for naturally produced food, the estate has been an accredited producer of organic livestock since 2001.
Developed by the father and stepson team of Alasdair Locke and Alex Christou, the purpose-built distillery has been born out of a passion for the land, for nature and for family legacy.
Today the Glenrinnes Distillery creates award-winning organic vodka and gin. The pursuit of quality is directly inspired by Speyside’s rich whisky heritage. Where we can’t sustainably grow or forage our own organic ingredients, we bring in the best from elsewhere. No GM crops. No pesticides. We recognise our role as both a consumer and a producer, so we try to be responsible, sustainable and respectful in everything we do.
This ethos stands behind the decision to create Eight Lands spirits from 100% organic ingredients and their accreditation ensures that there are high levels of traceability from grain to glass. In essence, this means that Eight Lands spirits are produced with ingredients that are of the highest quality and sustainably sourced.
Organic means our ingredients are free of pesticides, of which there are usually 300 in use. This means less chemicals, less force growing, and ultimately more natural-tasting products. It also has benefits to ecology.
